Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Rector and the Select Vestry, a sincere thank you to all of you who faithfully subscribe to the work of God through our Parish of Mullavilly, and who continue to do so despite the current economic climate that we find ourselves in.
We understand that financially things are difficult for everyone, and we as a Parish unfortunately are not immune to the rising costs of living, including energy costs, etc. However, as a Select Vestry, we continue to strive to be good stewards of the income we receive and how it is spent.
Over the past few years our regular income has been falling below our expenditure, and a percentage of parishioners who receive FWO envelopes do not use them to contribute anything to their parish.
It costs the parish, approximately £79 per man, woman and child (NOT per family) to cover the Diocesan Assessment each year before any other bills are paid, and this puts added pressure on others to meet these overheads.
If every person that already gives regularly were to be able to afford an extra £2 per week (less than the price of a cup of coffee) it would make a huge difference.
If those who presently do not contribute anything were to begin to give, even a small amount weekly or monthly, it would make a huge impact on what we could do as a parish.
Are there others in your household who are now earning? Over 18 years?
Or maybe you would like to begin to teach your children how to give to God and make a small contribution to the work of God in this parish each week, then speak to us.
From a financial aspect however, I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to prayerfully consider the possibility of increasing your current level of giving to an amount which you are comfortable with and/or to consider the following (overleaf) with regards to contributing financially to our Parish, if you don't already do so.
How can I play my part?
• Please consider taking Free Will Offering (FWO) envelopes and then returning
• these to church when you attend.
• Please consider beginning to use the FWO envelopes you have already been
• allocated as a parishioner (if these have been misled, please contact us)
• Please consider setting up a Standing Order with your bank for regular giving
• to the Parish; and/or
If you are a taxpayer, please consider signing a Gift Aid form and returning it to me when completed. This will allow us as a Parish to claim an additional 25% on the amount you contribute to church funds via a recorded means i.e. Standing Order or FWO envelopes, at no extra cost to you.
If you need further information on any of the above, please do not hesitate to contact me. Once again, please accept my sincere thanks on behalf of the Rector and Select Vestry for your continued financial support for the Parish, which will continue to be gratefully and graciously received.
